tyger trap
i dug myself a tyger trap
and checked it every day
for some tygers
leaning over the pit to see
if i'd caught one, i
leaned farther every time
with anticipation each day
and now have fallen in
into my tyger trap
so here i sit looking
up from this pile of leaves
and the tygers come to
the edge sometimes and
look down at me
with quiet tyger eyes.
this would be much easier if
they would laugh at me
rather than sigh
and pad away.
